It all began in 1923, thanks to Armando Morbidi who decided to leave a secure job to take over a dairy in the city centre. The sign Gastronomia Morbidi mentions 1925 as year zero, but only because that is the year of registration with the Chamber of Commerce.
Everything actually began two years earlier, and soon the shops became three. The three shops withstood the war and reconstruction and continued until the 1980s. In 1978, the current shop in Via Banchi di Sopra was purchased, which became the centre of the whole business. Throughout its history Morbidi has been able to change, preserving the soul of the shop, but keeping up with the times.
It has become modern, maintaining the link with tradition and without losing the energy and grit of its beginnings.
